HaRav Benny Kalmanzon | Rosh Yeshiva

Rabbi Binyamin Yosef Kalmanzon was born in Chaifa, Neve Shaanan. Deciding to strengthen his relationship with Judaism, he left public high school to graduate in Yeshiva High School of Netanya. He then started studying at Yeshivat Hakotel, learning under Harav Yeshayahu Hadari, Harav Chagai Izirir and Harav Shagar z”l. For a significant amount of time Rav Benny served as a rabbi for Yeshivat Hakotel and then in Yeshivat Kiryat Shmone. After some time, together with his friend Rav Ami Olami z”l, Rav Benny established a kollel for Jewish law and Halacha in the yeshuv Otniel. This Kollel eventually evolved into what is Yeshivat Otniel of today.

HaRav Re"em HaKohen | Rosh Yeshiva

Rabbi Re”em HaKohen was born in 1957 in Shaarei Chessed, Yerushalayim. He grew up as a consistent guest his neighbor’s house, Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach and was significantly influenced by the Torah he learned there.

In his youth, Rav Re”em attended the Yeshiva High School Netiv Meir and his Rabbi was Rav Aryeh Bina. He then went on to study in Yeshivat Har Etzion in Alon Shvut, where he studied under the guidance of his Rabbi and Teacher Rav Aharon Lichtenstein from whom and from Rav Eliezer Waldenberg (author of the “Tzitz Eliezer”) he received his Smicha. He served in the army as an officer in the Tank Corps.

Rabbi Yakov Nagen

Rabbi Yakov Nagen was born in Manhattan, New York. He studied at Yeshiva University, Yeshivat Har Etzion and at Yeshivat Otniel.

In his studies he has dealt extensively with the relationship between Halacha and Machshava about which he wrote his books “Water, Creation and Revelation – Sukkot in the philosophy of halacha” (hebrew) and “The Soul of the Mishna – a literary reading and search for meaning”(hebrew).  He also authored the book “Waking up to a new day – a renewed reading of Torah and life”(hebrew).

Rav Nagen also concentrated his studies on topics such as Kaballah, Chasidut and Jewish spirituality.

He is active in the issue of “Yisrael VeHaamim”; interfaith movements and organizations.

He received his doctoral degree in Jewish Philosophy from the Hebrew University.

Rav Nagen is married to Michal and they have 7 children.

HaRav Amnon Dokov

HaRav Amnon Dokov, born in 1971, was raised in Petach Tikva.

He studied under Rabbi Chaim Drukman in Yeshivat Ohr Etzion and then in Yeshivat Siach under Rav Shagar and Rav Yair Dreifus.

Other than his main focus of in-depth Talmudic study, Rav Amnon delves in to topics that deal with the relationship between Judaism and modern culture. In Yeshiva he leads a program titled “The Beit Midrash throughout History”, an important topic to every Modern Jew.

Rav Amnon studied and teaches basic fundamentals of guided imagery (a type of meditation) in Yeshiva as another way to obtain tools for internal Avodat Hashem.

He previously taught at Midreshet Nishmat and Mechinat Tzahali.

He is married to Noa and they have 5 children.

HaRav Shmuel Ariel

Rabbi Shmuel Ariel was born in 1967 and he learned Torah in the Yeshiva Gvohah Mekor Chaim and in Otniel. Along with Iyun study, in the Yeshiva Rav Shmuel is studies and teaches about various Halachic issues and fundamentals of Torah Sheba’al Peh.

He co-authored “The Marriage Covenant” and “ואכלת ושבעת”, was a partner for the ‘Asif’ chronicles, is a Posek for yeshiva.org.il, and he wrote columns for “tchumin”, “tzohar”, “אקדמות” and more.

He is currently writing a series of books on the fundamentals of the Oral Torah.

Rav Shmuel is married to Aviva and they have seven children.
